See how they cut blocks of ice from the frozen river

Every winter, workers saw blocks of ice, some weighing up to a ton, from the frozen Songhua River in Harbin. You can watch this spectacular ice harvest from the aptly named “Diamond Sea,” where discarded pieces of ice lie on the frozen river, shimmering like giant gemstones.
