With the falling temperatures of late autumn, the leaves on the trees are turning shades of brown, gold and red, creating oil painting-like scenes at a forest in Shaanxi. Located in the southern foothills of the Qinling Mountains, the forest is home to many rare and endangered animal species such as the crested ibis. To protect their habitat, reforestation efforts have been underway for years to increase the forest cover of local mountains and hills.
