Concept Note

In an increasingly interconnected world, the interaction between global corporate practices and local legal systems presents complex challenges, particularly for emerging economies. As countries strive to attract foreign investment, integrate into global trade networks, and encourage domestic enterprise, they must navigate the delicate balance between adopting international norms and preserving local socio-economic realities. Key areas of focus include the impact of international trade law on domestic corporate policy, the role of ESG and CSR in shaping corporate accountability, the challenges of regulating digital and transnational enterprises, and the importance of inclusive corporate governance.

This conference seeks to explore the evolving landscape of corporate law in emerging economies, where legal frameworks are often in transition, responding to rapid economic growth, technological change, and rising demands for social equity and sustainability. It aims to critically examine how global business standards are reconciled with domestic legal and institutional structures and how corporate regulation can serve both market efficiency and inclusive development.

The conference will also examine comparative experiences across jurisdictions, providing valuable insights into policy innovation and legal reform. Bringing together scholars, practitioners, regulators, and policymakers, this forum aspires to deepen dialogue on how corporate law can be a tool for both global competitiveness and local empowerment. By fostering interdisciplinary and cross-border perspectives, the conference aims to contribute to a more nuanced, context-sensitive approach to corporate legal development in the Global South.

About Karnavati University

Karnavati University is a State Private University dedicated to excellence in teaching and focused on interdisciplinary learning. About the Conference

The “THINK GLOBAL, GOVERN LOCAL: CORPORATE LAW AND LOCAL REALITIES IN EMERGING ECONOMIES” international conference will explore the complex and dynamic intersection of global corporate practices and local legal realities in emerging economies. In a world where global business standards and practices are increasingly influential, this conference seeks to address the challenges that emerging economies face in balancing international business norms with their unique social, economic, and legal frameworks.

Emerging markets, while positioned as key players in the global economy, often have legal structures that differ significantly from those in developed economies. These differences present unique opportunities and challenges in areas like corporate governance, trade, foreign direct investment, and regulatory frameworks. The conference will provide a platform to discuss how corporate law can evolve to meet global standards while accounting for the diverse needs of local contexts, cultures, and economic conditions.

This event will bring together experts from the fields of law, business, policy, and academia to critically engage in discussions on key topics such as foreign direct investment, corporate governance reforms, ESG compliance, and digital economy regulations. Special focus will be given to the impact of international trade agreements, comparative corporate law practices, and the role of local legal systems in shaping business landscapes.

Through keynote sessions, interactive discussions, and policy dialogues, the conference aims to generate actionable insights for developing corporate legal frameworks that promote growth, inclusivity, and sustainability in emerging economies.

Note: The above themes are not exhaustive, any contemporary topic related to Law will be considered.

Submission Guidelines

Participants are required to submit an abstract of 250 to 300 words. Upon acceptance, they must submit a presentation-ready paper, which includes a PowerPoint presentation (PPT) for the conference and a research paper of approximately 1,000 words.

After the conference, the best paper presenters may be invited to submit a full research paper within 30 days of notification. If they agree, their papers will be considered for publication in an edited book by Karnavati University.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

• The abstract should be formatted in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5-line spacing. Keywords should be in Times New Roman, font size 10, with single-line spacing. The paper title should be in 14 (Bold), and all subheadings should be in 12 (Bold), with 1.5-line spacing.
• The abstract must clearly state the research objective, methodology, key findings, implications, and keywords. Submissions must be plagiarism-free and should not have been submitted elsewhere for publication.
• Abstracts must be submitted in MS Word format only(no other formats will be accepted).
• The file name should follow the format: Author’s Name_Title of the Paper (e.g., Priyanka_LegalImplications of AI).
• Abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the Google Form (link provided on the last page).

Presentation-Ready Paper

The presentation-ready paper must adhere to the same formatting guidelines as the abstract.
