Horseback shrimp fishermen keep ancient tradition alive

Located on the Belgian North Sea coast is Oostduinkerke, a place internationally recognized for the tradition of shrimp fishing on horseback. It’s a centuries-old activity and a small group of fishermen were battling to preserve this unique way of fishing. It was inscribed in 2013 by UNESCO on its Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
