Astro Bot Release-Day Delivery Is Still Available, But You’ll Need To Preorder Soon

Astro Bot releases tomorrow, September 6, and there’s still time to get release-day delivery from multiple major retailers, including Amazon and Walmart. Astro Bot comes with an exclusive poster inside the box. The highly anticipated PS5-exclusive platformer is earning rave reviews. GameSpot’s Astro Bot review awarded it a 9/10, and the platformer’s current Metacritic average of 94 puts it in a tie with God of War: Ragnarok for the highest rated PlayStation 5 exclusive of all time. Unfortunately, the Astro Bot-themed DualSense controller is currently sold out.

As of September 5 at 9:30 AM PT / 12:30 PM ET, here’s what the Astro Bot preorder situation looks like.

Since going up for preorder on August 9, Astro Bot’s Limited-Edition DualSense Controller has been hard to find. Retailers have restocked the controller multiple times over the last week, but the controller tends to sell out quickly each time.

All standard edition preorders come with a PaRappa the Rapper outfit for Astro, Glorious Graffiti Dual Speeder color, and two PSN avatars. If you preorder the physical edition, you’ll also get the cool poster shown above.

Digital preorders for the standard ($60) and Digital Deluxe editions ($70) are available on the PlayStation Store. The $70 edition comes with a digital soundtrack and art gallery, 10 PSN avatars, Yharnam Hunter and Golden outfits, and Neon Dream and Champions’ Gold colors for the game’s in-game DualSense controller (the Dual Speeder).

Along with a white and blue design, the Astro Bot controller features several accents and a pair of beady eyes staring out at you from the touchpad.

While it may boast a striking new design, this is your standard DualSense (except, yeah, it looks much cooler). That means you won’t get back buttons or customizable components as you would on the DualSense Edge, but it has all of the hallmarks that make the DualSense such a cool controller: haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a built-in microphone.

Astro’s Playroom, the free game released in 2020 alongside the PS5 console, served as a superb demonstration of the DualSense’s unique traits, so we’re looking forward to seeing how Astro Bot expands on these concepts.
