First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, First Impression

On the very first day, we were briefed about the workings of the organisation and it’s schemes and functions and we got to meet with the member secretary and asked to prepare reports and briefs for the various NALSA schemes.

First impressions, first-day formalities, and infrastructure were all very good. Try to be in formals the first day, and try to join the internship from the very first day and do the work which is assigned to you.

Main Tasks

The interns were asked to make a project report on various schemes and present it before the Member Secretary related to various schemes of NALSA and from this year onwards as per the new NALSA policies, it has been separated from the District Legal Service Authority so there was generally no task given related to DALSA.

Also there on the very first day, we were given the schedule for the coming days through mail which also included a visit to the Supreme Court.

Work Environment

The work environment was very relaxed and quite amicable and working hours were from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. also the staff at my district was very cooperative and the internship was a combination of both learning and fun.

The staff members at NALSA were very efficient in updating us about the new policies and schedule, they were very accommodating and lenient but you have to complete your number of days of the internship how otherwise it will also get extended.

Good Things

The best thing about the internship was that every day we were given different tasks and that too with full guidance. You get exposure to all those things which a law student dreams of before becoming a lawyer, Supreme Court, Juvenile Justice Board, or Mediation Centre. We were also offered refreshments.

Bad Things

There was nothing bad with this internship. However, it is only recommended to the 1st and 2nd year students because generally, they don’t ask for more knowledge of law. So the task was been allocated according to that level only which is reasonable for you in your 1st or 2nd year.
