A groupĀ of Yao ethnic people from south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region performed the “Kemusan” dance in front of the Saint Sophia Cathedral, a famous Harbin landmark in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province on Wednesday.

Their joyful dance moves attracted two local high school students who were passing to stop and join in with them.

This is another example of the recent friendly interactions between Guangxi and Heilongjiang, after 11 kindergarten kids from the south received a warm welcome during a study tour to the northeastern province earlier this month.

The “Kemusan” dance, which literally means “Subject Three” and originated in Guangxi, is a freestyle street dance that has taken Chinese social media platforms by storm, fueling a wave of dance challenges among young people, both from China and abroad.
